In 2018, Birut\u0117 became a professor, and also obtained a diploma from the European Association of Sexual Medicine. This qualified her as a sexual medicine practitioner.<\/p>\n<p>This medical specialist took practical training in Switzerland, at Zeneve University in Denmark, Copenhagen, at the Department of Development and Reproduction at Oslo University in Norway, and at Karolinska Hospital in Sweden.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professional activity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Professional experience since 1983.<\/p>\n<p>Professor at the Clinic of Endocrinology of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Endocrinologist at the Clinic of Endocrinology of the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) Kauno klinikos.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Centre of Rare Endocrine Disorders of the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) Kauno klinikos.<\/p>\n<p>Head of General Endocrinology Laboratory of Endocrinology Institute and Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and senior staff scientist.<\/p>\n<p>Member of the Senate of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Birut\u0117 \u017dilaitien\u0117 is a doctoral advisor for 6 doctoral students. 4 of them defended their theses, and the remaining 2 students are continuing their doctoral studies.<\/p>\n<p>The most significant achievement in her professional career is her investigations into the male reproductive system in Lithuania that became well-known across the world. She participated in common projects for research into the reproductive health of young men from Northern and Baltic states and programmes to standardise clinic research and semen analysis in andrology and published the results in international and Lithuanian journals. Birut\u0117 is the co-author of over 300 scientific publications.
