At Northway Fertility Centres, we employ the latest advanced cryopreservation technology called vitrification. It has revolutionized the ability to freeze and successfully thaw frozen eggs. Vitrification is a highly successful technique, with more than 80\u201390% of frozen oocytes surviving the freezing process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When it is best to freeze oocytes?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Women are most fertile in their early to mid-20s, after which there is a steady natural decline in both the quality and quantity of eggs, negatively affecting the ability to conceive. After the age of 35, this decline in fertility typically accelerates. Therefore, younger eggs provide a greater chance of pregnancy. Advances in egg freezing technology have enabled the safe and successful retrieval and freezing of unfertilized eggs, allowing women to use them whenever they are ready to start a family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sperm freezing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sperm freezing, or male fertility preservation, is a procedure for freezing sperm for future use. There are many reasons why men choose to preserve their fertility, including a recent cancer diagnosis, a high-risk career or hobby, an upcoming vasectomy, or age-related concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Age and male fertility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While many believe that age only affects women&#8217;s fertility, aging can also impact men&#8217;s fertility. As men get older, the quality of their sperm deteriorates over time, making it increasingly difficult to conceive. Poor sperm quality can ultimately lead to health issues for the baby, as well as a higher risk of miscarriage. Sperm freezing helps mitigate these problems by allowing men to preserve sperm when it is at its healthiest. Sperm can be frozen and safely stored for a long time before being thawed and used for IVF or IUI (intrauterine insemination).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How is sperm freezing performed?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the fertility laboratory, an embryologist analyzes the sperm sample. Viable spermatozoa are frozen (vitrified) by immersing the test tubes in liquid nitrogen. In some cases, reproductive organs may be removed during surgery.
