Buttock implants

Buttock implants are inserted to add size or reshape them. During the consultation, you will discuss with the surgeon the type and the size of the implants to be inserted, site of incision, site of implants and type of anesthesia.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. This procedure normally takes about 2-3 hours. The incision is made at the bottom of the buttocks in the crease next to the thigh or next to the sacrum. Implants can be inserted both under the large muscle and on top of it. After the implants are inserted, the incisions are sutured, and a compression garment must be worn on them for two weeks. Several hours after the surgery and in case of no complications the patient is permitted to go home. The stitches are removed in 7-10 days; the swelling will go down in several weeks.

The buttock implants stretch the tissues (especially if they are inserted under the muscle), so for this reason the patient may feel pain. The surgeon will prescribe pain medication. During the first days after surgery, the patient will experience some difficulties when moving.

It is recommended to avoid any physical activity for several weeks. Recovery time may take about 1 month.
