Biography

Education
  • 1985–1995 – Completed medical studies at Kaunas Medical Academy and obtained a medical doctor’s diploma.
  • 1996–1998 – Residency in Internal Medicine at Vilnius University (basic medical residency programme).
  • 1998–2000 – Residency in Cardiology at Vilnius University.
  • 1998 – Granted a license to practice as a physician (internist).
  • 2000 – Granted a license to practice as a cardiologist (MPL-07239).
  • September 2011 – Defended a doctoral dissertation in biomedical sciences titled:
    “Characteristics of Structural and Functional Changes in Central and Peripheral Arteries in Metabolic Syndrome.”
Professional work experience

She began her professional career as a cardiologist in 2000 and has since been working at the Centre of Cardiology and Angiology of Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos. Over more than two decades, she has accumulated extensive experience in both outpatient and inpatient cardiology, as well as in the long-term care and treatment of patients with cardiovascular diseases.

She consults daily patients with arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia, and those recovering after myocardial infarction, as well as patients with complex combinations of cardiovascular risk factors. She specializes in the assessment of metabolic syndrome, progression of atherosclerosis, and vascular dysfunction.

An experienced specialist, she continuously improves her professional qualifications – she has completed internships at Langenstein Hospital in Switzerland and Pompidou Hospital in France, and actively participates in national and international conferences, including the congresses of the European Society of Cardiology and the European Atherosclerosis Society, where she presents scientific research annually.

  • Has published more than 300 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Has prepared more than 40 poster presentations for international conferences.
  • Actively participates in national and international scientific conferences as a speaker.
